New Director for Tutu Rural Training Centre, Taveuni, Fiji 

After 4 decades as the Director of the Tutu Rural Training Centre, Taveuni, Fr Michael McVerry sm  passed on the baton of leadership to the young and dynamic Fr Petero Matairatu sm.

On 19th September, after the Tutu Board of Trustees meeting, the Provincial, Fr Setefano Mataele sm, during the celebration of the Mass at the Grotto of our Lady of Lura, and witnessed by the Tutu Community of Staff families and young farmers, installed Fr Petero to his new role as the Director of Tutu. He has been under the mentorship of the outgoing Director for some years.

Fr Michael leaves for his Sabbatical confident that Tutu is in the good hands of the new management team and the watchful eyes of the Tutu Board of Trustees comprised of Dr Andrew McGregor (expert in Agriculture), Mr Matthew Abel (Finance), Mr Eric Narayan (Management), Mrs Serenia Madigibuli (Tutu), Fr Provincial, Fr Donato Kivi sm, and Fr ‘Aisake Vaisima sm (Chairperson)

The Marist Family in Suva came together to celebrate their Feast Day at the Holy Eucharist Parish, Laucala.

During the Annual Review Consultation (ARC) meeting 2 of our Scholastics from the International Formation community were called to Perpetual Profession together with Scholastics from the other Provinces of the Society. Their vows were received by the Superior General and witnessed by the Major Superiors of the Society who are attending the ARC meeting. Grateful to the MMC for its continual contribution to the various development projects of our more difficult missions. The community in Tanna, Vanuatu has received funds to build a new kindergarten building which was blessed by Bishop John B Bosco sm, the Bishop of Vanuatu. The project was led by Frs Eneriko Nacolarara sm and Antoine Tamaraka sm and followed up by Frs Epoki Okusitino sm and Louis Maite sm.
