Deacons ordained

On 21st May, two Marists, Peter Puamae [SI] and Mika Tuilau [FJ] were ordained Deacons at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Suva, by Archbishop Peter Loy Chong PhD.

Peter and Mika are both in their final year of initial formation at Marist College Suva. 

Peter, from the Solomon Islands, is 33 yrs old, and his formation has included 7 years of seminary studies, 1 Yr Novitiate, 1 Yr at Teachers College, and 1 Yr teaching at Chanel College in Samoa. 

Mika, from Fiji, is also 33 yrs old, and his formation includes 6 years of seminary studies, 1 Yr Novitiate, and  2 Yrs of pastoral placement in New Caledonia, where he also learnt French.

Finance Committee meets in Sydney

Members of the Oceania Marist Province Finance Committee are meeting this week in Sydney (May 01-04).

On Mon, May 01, Sydney-based advisors to Marist Missions of the Pacific met with the committee, later joining them for a meal at Villa Maria monastery, Hunters Hill.

The meeting is hosted by Fr Brian Wilson, OMP's financial manager in Australia.
